Sometimes American cuisine can get a bad rap. But if you spend a few months living abroad, you may fully appreciate it.
You can shave my hair with global food cravings as much as you want, but I guarantee that long after you steer clear of things like Texas Brisket or New York Bagels, you will offer just about anything to satisfy those cravings.
At least this is my experience. Thanks to Reddit and family and friends who lived abroad, I was able to select a small list of American foods that are often missed.

It doesn't matter if you put cream cheese, fancy, or swear with plain butter; This truly basic breakfast has become an American (well, mostly New York) favorite. Waffles probably originated in Poland centuries ago, and can still be found there, but in other parts of Europe and most of the world, they are hard to come by.

3. Ranch Dressing
The world mocks Americans for our love of the ranch and our fondness for it for just about anything. But anyone who has tried it knows that it is good. Sprinkle it over baked potatoes, use as a sauce for pizza crust or wings, spread on a sandwich, or go old school and top your salad. The world is missing.

4. Tex-Mex
If you're a Texan or have spent any time in Texas, you know what I'm talking about. This cheese-filled kitchen is a staple in the American Southwest, and anyone who's ever enjoyed a plate of chili con queso knows why. Many restaurants around the world try to imitate it, but they rarely (and I mean rarely) do it in the kitchen.
